The Dipteryx Odorata is a species native to northern Latin America, mainly Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. From its fruit is extracted the stone which contains the bean, this one after treatment takes its wrinkled and brown appearance and gives off its coumarin smell. The quantity of coumarin contained in the beans is such that crystals form inside.
