Fragrant, aromatic and medicinal plants (FAMPs) play an important role in many fields, including food, cosmetics, herbal medicine and traditional medicine. Among them, Mallow, Cinnamon, Hibiscus and Savory stand out for their botanical characteristics, properties and wide range of uses. Although they differ in origin, composition and the plant parts used, these plants are all rich in valuable natural compounds and have potential applications in various sectors. Studying these four FAMPs therefore provides a better understanding of their diversity, properties and the importance of their use in both traditional and modern practices.
The soils and climate of the Drôme region provide Satureja montana var. citriodora with ideal conditions for concentrating its active compounds: a temperate climate, abundant heat and sunlight, and mechanized harvesting before flowering, when the leaves reach their optimum aromatic quality.
The leaves are the part used and valued. Recognized for their beneficial properties, they are dried and available as whole leaves, herbal tea cut, infusion cut and powder.
