YXENS finalizes acquisition of HERBISSIMA

The goal of this merger is to improve the products and services offered to customers by leveraging the expertise of the existing teams. A merger between the two entities, HERBISSIMA and ELIXENS France, is planned for early 2025, driven by the complementary nature of their herbal activities and the need to pursue synergies that will strengthen their competitiveness.

The two sites, Eurre and Vaison-la-Romaine, along with their full workforce, will be maintained. Long-term partnerships with certain suppliers will be extended, with the aim of creating new supply chains.

The new entity, which will retain the name ELIXENS France, will continue to be highly committed to organic production and will further expand its offerings in health and environmental protection. By combining their expertise into a single entity, ELIXENS FRANCE and HERBISSIMA will be able to offer customers a wide range of high-quality, traceable herbal teas and extracts, while ensuring their safety (ISO22000 and IFS certified).

Customers will benefit from:
• A high-performing and versatile industrial plant-processing tool (grinding, sorting, thermal treatment, blending, flavoring, etc.);
• Expertise in powder processing (grinding, thermal treatment, granulation, etc.);
• Direct access to French-sourced plants from the Dauphiné Provence supply chain;
• Innovative natural and organic flavoring solutions already developed by Elixens France.

Until the end of 2024, the two legal entities will remain separate, and the operational processes for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders of both companies will be maintained.

 

About Herbissima:

Herbissima is a processor of aromatic herbs and tea located in Vaison-la-Romaine in Vaucluse. Its production volume is currently around 1,000 tonnes per year, of which 80% is organic certified and around 15% fair trade labeled. The company controls all transformation processes: heat treatment, cutting, granulation, mixing, etc. Herbissima ships finished products in bulk but it can also deliver products in bags and boxes of tea or infusions, by subcontracting the packaging process. The company employs more than 20 people, most of them very experienced.
